Galvanic corrosion correction + Kynar Aquatec® refinish

Las Olas Marina

A demanding marina-environment railing restoration that required corrosion correction, careful preparation and a premium field-applied finish system.

01

The condition

Approximately 600 linear feet of cable railing showed filiform and galvanic corrosion in a high-exposure waterfront setting. The installed assembly, adjacent surfaces and active marina conditions made replacement disruptive and ordinary repainting insufficient.

02

AMF’s response

AMF isolated the corrosion mechanisms, prepared the existing metal, addressed vulnerable interfaces and completed a controlled field refinish around the finished property.

03

The outcome

The railing system was returned to a consistent architectural appearance with a coating strategy selected for the substrate and severe coastal exposure.
